Our story.

Built from the reality of running a clinic.

Chenzara started in a small independent clinic in Glasgow.

After 16 years working in policy and governance within the UK Government, I thought I was pretty comfortable with systems, processes and regulation.

Then I started running a regulated healthcare clinic.

As the clinic grew, I became increasingly aware of the tension between running a busy service and giving clinical governance the attention it deserved. The individual tasks weren't necessarily difficult. The challenge was the sheer number of them — happening at different intervals, sitting in different places and often relying on someone remembering what needed to happen next.

I could see how easily good governance could become harder to sustain as a clinic became busier.

And I thought there had to be a better way.

So I started building one.

I wasn't a software developer. I was a clinic operator trying to solve a problem I had every day.

I wanted something that felt different from traditional compliance systems: simple to use, proportionate to the clinic, and helpful rather than burdensome.

A system that understood something about the clinic it was supporting. That could put relevant checks and audit templates in place, surface things when they needed attention and keep the evidence together.

Most importantly, I wanted to be able to open it and know that we were on top of things.

That became Chenzara.

Built in a real clinic. Shaped by real clinical practice.

Chenzara hasn't been developed in isolation.

From the beginning, we've built and tested it within Glasgow Skin Specialists, our independent regulated clinic, where it's used alongside the everyday realities of delivering patient care.

We've also involved practising clinicians in its development — testing assumptions, challenging what isn't useful and helping us make sure that what we build is clinically relevant and proportionate.

And now we're opening Chenzara to other independent clinics so that an even wider group of people can help shape what comes next.

Governance should support good care — not compete with it.

That's the principle behind Chenzara.

We're not trying to create more governance, more admin or more boxes to tick.

We're trying to make the important things easier to do, easier to evidence and harder to miss.
